As you are probably aware, MGE’s parent company, Schneider Electric, entered into exclusive negotiations earlier this year to sell MGE’s small systems business to Eaton Corporation. The small systems business is known as MGE Office Protection Systems. Today we are announcing that the process has been completed. This is exciting news that presents tremendous opportunities for growth and profitability, and I would like to share information about how we believe this will benefit our valued channel partners.
Through this acquisition, Eaton is now the world’s second largest manufacturer and supplier of single-phase uninterruptible power systems (UPS). The addition of MGE Office Protection Systems brings together a wide range of single-phase UPS and power protection products, expertise and resources. Over time, our goal is to provide all channel partners with the best and broadest range of products available on the market. This acquisition will advance that goal.
To MGE Office Protection Systems, Eaton brings the resources of a multinational, diversified corporation with 62,000 employees selling products in 125 countries. MGE Office Protection Systems will operate within Eaton’s Electrical Group, and for now you should conduct business as usual.
